SURFACE/BELLY is a web-based multimedia hypertext poem in which reflexively composed, graphically displayed text guides the reader between the surface and depths of a narrative. Through both form and materiality, the work poetically explores the relationship between interiors and exteriors. The cursor behaves like touch, returning to the text as if a scar, tracing the familiar path of a wound to understand its contours, histories, and depths.
